Blog 3 (Learning Experiences)

Poor learning experience can be described as a student unable to learn new things because of unclear instruction, lack of resources, and even if there is no desire to learn new things. I had faced some poor experiences as a student and as a teacher as well. As a student, I need visuals to clear up the things I do not understand. Plus, sometimes I did not get the support I needed from my family to help with my education. As an educator, I cannot provide all the resources that my students need for them to learn.

As a teacher, we also learn things while teaching our students. The reading stated many Personalized Learning Environments (PLE) that started in 2001. It is a theory on how students learn, and educators teach. Alongside PLE, there are tools used. One of the tools is based on drawing and this took me back to my lesson delivery on constructing angles. At first, I did not know how to use a compass to construct a 90-degree angle and a 45-degree angle. Therefore, I had to ask for help from technology. I looked up on the internet how to construct an angle and as I demonstrated to the students the steps, both my students and I were very impressed with the work we all did.

I learned best through technology by looking at images or illustrations. As mentioned before, learning through visuals is my best learning technique. With technology, it is easier to search for videos or pictures that can help elaborate more on the things that need clarification.
