Blog 7 (Process & Takeaways)
Learning Process
Researchers and educators have confirmed that people learn in different ways. We absorb knowledge through visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic (VARK) modalities, which are also known as learning modalities. In addition to these modalities, individuals gain knowledge in the process of learning. As individuals, we take in information through various means. Consequently, while absorbing information, we undergo processes that assist, guide, and enhance our learning. Furthermore, there are stages in the learning process that people navigate. These stages start with acquiring new knowledge with great interest but little prior understanding. Following this is practice. With ample practice, knowledge begins to accumulate, and once it is secured, its application can occur automatically without conscious thought. Once the process is complete, the understanding of the old process will be lost, but once practice is acquired, it will recover. And that is how the learning process is done.
